- A main production kitchen and servery counter that would feed up to 1,500 pupils and staff every day.
- A food technology training kitchen that would enable catering students to gain their BTEC qualifications in an authentic cooking environment.
- A stand-alone ‘Food to Go’ café servery providing a variety of snacks and refreshments during break periods and to cater for events and theatre productions.
The main kitchen is located behind the bespoke fitted servery counter incorporating a combination of chilled deli counters, heated display cabinets, and refrigerated units. As well as cooking equipment, the state of the art kitchen incorporates walk-in cold stores, preparation space and warewashing.
The food technology facility uses heavy duty commercial cooking equipment and refrigeration to give up to 16 students a ‘real life’ experience.
