Monty’s Diner, Leeds Bradford Airport

Space Group were appointed to deliver the complete foodservice installation for the new Monty’s Diner at Leeds Bradford Airport, marking this the second successful Monty’s project completed by our team.

Working within a live airport environment brings unique challenges. All equipment deliveries, contractor access and installation activities had to be meticulously planned and coordinated from the offset to meet airport security requirements and minimise disruption to operations.

Through close collaboration with the client, airport teams and project stakeholders, Space successfully delivered the project on programme, helping to transform the space into a vibrant dining destination for passengers.

The project included the installation of a fully equipped front-of-house bar alongside a back-of-house production kitchen, storage facilities and dedicated warewashing area. The back-of-house facilities have been designed to support not only Monty’s Diner but also an additional foodservice operation currently under development.

The diner concept draws inspiration from the classic American diner experience, with a menu and service offering centred around treats such as milkshakes and ice cream. To support this, Space designed and installed a range of specialist equipment tailored to the operation’s requirements including specialist refrigeration equipment, spindle mixers, bespoke fabricated ice wells, custom shelving for glass storage and glass washing facilities.

Every element was carefully considered to maximise efficiency, support the customer offering and ensure the operation could perform effectively within the constraints of an airport environment.

The completed Monty’s Diner combines a distinctive American diner feel with a highly functional operational layout and has created a venue that delivers both an engaging customer experience and efficient day-to-day operation.

The project further strengthens Space Group’s relationship with Monty’s and demonstrates our expertise in delivering complex foodservice environments within highly controlled operational settings such as airports.
