The Roses Theatre

The Roses Theatre provides a vibrant community hub and cultural landmark in the heart of Tewkesbury. With a loyal local following and a vital role in the town’s social and cultural life, the theatre required a thoughtful and impactful upgrade to the bar area.

The existing bar was located upstairs, limiting accessibility and visibility. The client’s goal was to relocate it to the ground floor, enhancing accessibility and creating a more intuitive and welcoming visitor journey, from entrance to bar to auditorium. The space needed to be modernised, with a high-quality finish and improved functionality for both staff and patrons.

Space Group provided a full turnkey solution, managing the bar redesign, services installation, fabrication, and fit out.

Key features of the new bar include:

• A contemporary slatted timber front
• Custom-manufactured back bar including stepped display shelving, under-counter refrigeration, and a dedicated coffee service area.
• Comprehensive plumbing and services installation—a particularly challenging aspect due to the building layout and integration requirements
• This project was a combined effort between our Catering and Interiors divisions, demonstrating Space Group’s multidisciplinary capability.

The relocation and redesign not only improved the operational efficiency of the bar but now also provides a warm and modern welcoming area that enhances the experience for audiences and guides them into the heart of the theatre.
