The brief was to transform the existing hospitality offer with a contemporary new Barista area, while upgrading the adjoining Grab & Go space.
The ambition was to create an environment that combined strong visual appeal with practical day-to-day operation. The finished space needed to deliver a premium customer experience, support efficient service and provide a distinctive hospitality destination within a busy workplace setting.
Space was appointed to undertake the catering and bespoke joinery fit-out for the new Barista area, together with strip-out, modifications and upgrade works to the existing Grab & Go zone.
Bespoke manufacture was central to the project. Space designed, manufactured and installed a series of purpose-built elements tailored to both the aesthetic vision and operational requirements of the space.
The works included:
Rather than relying on standard solutions, each joinery element was developed specifically for the project, creating a cohesive finish while ensuring the space worked effectively for both the hospitality team and its customers.
One of the principal challenges was delivering the refurbishment within a busy central London workplace while keeping disruption to normal operations to an absolute minimum.
Installation therefore had to be carefully programmed outside normal working hours. Restricted working windows, site access and city-centre logistics meant that deliveries, labour and installation activity all required detailed coordination.
Working closely with key stakeholders and foodservice consultants Tricon, the Space team carefully managed each stage of the programme. Close communication and forward planning enabled the team to overcome the logistical constraints and deliver the installation safely, efficiently and within the required programme.
The completed Barista and Grab & Go areas provide a fresh, contemporary hospitality environment that brings together design, craftsmanship and operational functionality.
Bespoke counters, shelving, decorative glazing and integrated lighting create a distinctive identity, while the carefully considered layout supports an efficient customer journey and day-to-day service.
The result is more than simply a refurbishment. It is an attractive workplace destination that enhances the hospitality experience for employees and visitors while responding to the practical demands of a busy operational environment.
For Space, the project is a strong example of how bespoke manufacture, catering expertise and carefully managed fit-out can come together to deliver a high-quality solution, even within a challenging city-centre setting.
