Staff Restaurant Fit Out in Collaboration with The Wernick Group
This project involved the complete design and fit out of a staff restaurant within a newly constructed modular building, delivered in partnership with The Wernick Group. The scope encompassed all interior elements—kitchen, servery, and front-of-house dining—to create a functional, visually engaging, and efficient space for both staff and visitors.
Interior Fit-Out Highlights:
- Durable Finishes: Walls, floors, and ceilings were specified for longevity and ease of maintenance.
- Acoustic Rafting: Integrated into the ceiling to reduce noise and enhance comfort.
- Bespoke Lighting: Custom fixtures inspired by aircraft ejector seat handles added a distinctive design feature.
Kitchen Design & Equipment:
The kitchen was fitted with state-of-the-art equipment to support a streamlined workflow and ensure full compliance with design and safety standards. Key features included:
- Cold and freezer rooms for temperature-controlled storage.
- High-density storage solutions to maximise space efficiency.
- All-electric cooking line, including combination ovens, induction hobs, filtration fryers, and pressurised cooking centres for high-speed, versatile preparation.
- A comprehensive ventilation system with extract and supply air, acoustic attenuation, tempered air, and integrated fire suppression.
- Dedicated wash-up area with passthrough dishwasher and a macerating/dewatering system for food waste management.
Front-of-House Servery:
Designed to offer variety, speed, and accessibility, the servery included:
- A grab-and-go station for quick meal options.
- Ergonomic layout to support efficient service and reduce congestion.
- A staff welfare zone with water tap and microwave for added convenience.
- Strategically positioned till stations that optimise customer flow.
- A tiled pass-through to the kitchen ensuring a seamless service between kitchen and servery.
Dining & Visitor Area:
The dining space was designed for flexibility and ease of use, featuring:
- Retractable Glass Panels: Allowing the space to transition between staff-only and visitor-accessible modes.
- Mobile & Fold-Down Furniture: Enabling quick reconfiguration for events or changing needs.
- Decked Terrace: Accessed via bi-folding doors, offering an inviting outdoor seating option.
- Poseur Tables & Stools: Contributing to a modern, casual aesthetic.
The project successfully delivered a modern, adaptable, and fully functional staff catering facility. The integration of high-performance kitchen equipment, flexible front-of-house solutions, and thoughtful design details resulted in a space that balances operational efficiency with aesthetic appeal. Smart storage, fire safety systems, and high-quality finishes further enhance the environment for both staff and visitors.
