SCOPE
Space Group were tasked to create a new interior, including a boardroom and demo bar from an empty office space, refurbish the development and test kitchen and incorporate a new office space for staff.
OVERVIEW
For the staging area, we developed the idea of a mock pub branded as ‘The Billington Arms’ that allows clients to taste test their new menu options within a pub environment. The pub space included a new timber table, wall fixed banquette seating, armchairs, and upholstered bar stools. Within the pub space, we designed and installed a fully operational bar with high level oak bar top and poseur seating allowing us to achieve increased numbers within the pub for taste testing. The interior design of the bar space has created a fantastic atmosphere, from new flooring, fixtures and fittings, decoration and feature pendant lighting.
Our design separated the boardroom and staging area with a crittall wall and door system. This allowed the spaces to be connected but also enabled them to be used independently of one another if required. Elements of the finishes ran from the mock pub through to the boardroom linking the interior scheme, which included, luxury vinyl flooring (Karndean) and brand coloured tub chairs. The interior design for the boardroom created a modern corporate look, as outlined in the brief.
The kitchen design needed to comfortably accommodate 6 development chefs, increase their storage capacity, and incorporate a new walk-in freezer. To achieve this, we increased the kitchen footprint by utilising space within the client’s new extension. Induction catering equipment was specified to reduce energy consumption, provide cleaner air and work under the existing ventilation canopy, making it compliant with current regulations. By providing a new walk-in freezer this enabled the development area of the business to be fully operational without the need to walk across site to use the CPU freezer space.
Our designers developed a new internal wall layout that improved flow between the areas we were renovating, whilst working around the existing building structure. This included the creation of a new entrance walkway and corridor that acted as the new fire escape route. The new wall layout allowed the office space to be separate with new changing room and breakout area.
The project had its challenges to overcome within the tight programmed of works, but this demonstrated what we can accomplish as a team.
